Cody High School was well represented at our first Knowledge Bowl competition in a while on December 4 in Burlington, Wyoming. Out of 12 teams (four people per team), our students placed third. The Knowledge Bowl is an academic competition where students compete with other teams in four oral categories and one written category. The questions can be from any area of academia, as well as current events. During the oral rounds students compete against two other teams, usually consisting of four participants. The teams receive questions, and they must buzz in with an answer without conferring with their team. If a team answers incorrectly, the next team that buzzed in can answer, and the final team can answer if the second team answers incorrectly. During the written round, students must complete a multiple-choice test together in an hour. There was a sum of 300 questions asked during the oral and written competition, each worth one point for a correct answer. The total score is the sum of all correct answer points. The competition determines first, second, and third by which team of 12 had the most points, the second most points, and the third most points. Congratulations to our amazing students!
