Sunset Elementary

Mr. Ted Gonzaga, a pilot with Southwest Airlines, made weekly visits to our 4th grade classrooms for the Adopt-a-Pilot program. The program supports teachers in reinforcing the importance of school and how the power of hard work and commitment are essential to achieving dreams. Pilots lead activities in the Adopt-A-Pilot curriculum by making lessons in science, geography, and math come alive, demonstrating to students how these subjects can be applied in “real life.” Students track their "adopted" pilot's journey during the time that he or she is "on the road."  On his last visit of the school year our 4^th graders had a little celebration. We are happy to have Mr. Gonzaga back at Sunset School for the 4^th year!
