Cody High School will be providing Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention Training again this year to all Cody students during one of their 2nd period classes the week of December 5th - December 14th.
While we feel strongly that this training is necessary, we also understand the topic of suicide may overwhelm some of our students.
To that end, you have the right to opt out your child from the training and we respect your decision if you choose to do so. Please keep in mind the training is provided by suicide prevention specialist who are highly qualified in this area. Also, counselors will be on hand to help students process and cope with any difficult emotions that may arise. The training takes approximately one hour, and each student will be included in a whole class training. This is the same format we used last year, and we feel that the smaller classroom size works much better for this type of training compared to the whole school assembly option.
